Boarding should NEVER be boring!
WELCOME! If you're going away - don't send your dog to a "kennel" - send them on their own vacation! We believe dogs need to run and play, not sit in a cage all day! We invite you to look around and find out how Little River can give your dog an exciting, stimulating vacation!

We believe that boarding should be much more than "warehousing" pets, so our daily rate includes not just food and sleeping quarters, but also the costs associated with interacting with your pet throughout the day - bringing them to our huge outdoor playyards for 5-7 hours per day of socialized playtime, finding compatible canine friends, etc. - in order to provide a fun, stimulating and safe vacation! Meals and a complimentary bath (with 3 night stay) are also included! Pets DO NOT sit alone in cages all day at Little River!

Standard Rooms - Standard rooms feature ceramic tile floors and freshly laundered bedding. When not out playing in the yards, guest have an individual indoor sleeping area. Standard rooms are available at the following rates:

Important Notes:

  • MEDICATION: Administering medicaton orally is available for $1.50 per medication per administration (up to a max. $5 per day). Administering insulin injections, changing bandages, administering ear and eye drops and other special services are charged on a case by case basis.
  • NO CHARGE FOR A.M. DEPARTURES: Please note that there is a charge for the day of arrival - however there is no charge for the day of departure if your pet checks-out in the morning.
  • CANCELLATION POLICY: Because space is limited and the resort is frequently completely booked, reservations must be cancelled one week in advance of scheduled check-in to avoid a cancellation fee. A fee equal to one day's boarding will be charged for cancellations received from 7 to 2 days before scheduled check-in. Cancellations received less than 48 hours before check in will be charged a cancellation fee equal to two days boarding. We do not collect a deposit to secure a reservation. You can help us keep it that way (and allow us to accommodate another pet on the waiting list) by always canceling with plenty of notice!
  • DISCOUNTS & PROMOTIONS: Only one discount is applicable at a time. Discounts and promotions are not available over holidays.
  • METHOD OF PAYMENT: Payment must be made with cash or check when arriving to pick up your pet.
  • RETURNED CHECK FEE: There is a $25 fee for all returned checks.
  • Rates, requirements and policies are generally updated each year but are subject to change without notice.
  • BATH INCLUDED: A Standard bath is included on all stays of three days or more. Add a blowout and brushing
  • DAYCARE INCLUDED: Other facilities charge an additional $20 per day (or more) for your dog to go outside! At Little River, "daycare" is included for all guests!

... For the protection of your pet, the requirements below are non-negotiable and no exceptions can be made. If you have any doubt, or do not have a copy of your current vaccinations, contact your vet and ask them to send a copy to you well in advance of your scheduled stay. These records MUST be presented during or prior to check-in. Failure to provide documentation of vaccinations and a fecal test will result in a charge of $2 for resort staff to contact your vet and obtain a copy.

At the Little River Pet Resort, people and pets always have a great time! One of the issues that we take very seriously, however, is our vaccination policy. No amount of precaution and care can guarantee the prevention of communicable diseases, but in order to minimize the risk of your pet being exposed to anything contagious any pet that visits the resort (whether for an hour or a month) must be current on the following vaccinations.

Rabies Written vet documentation must include expiration date as well as date administered.

This vaccination (against Canine Cough) might not normally be given unless your vet knows that your pet will be boarding. Please be sure that you request this vaccination. It is good for one year (although new information suggests six month vaccinations might provide better protection for pets that are frequently around other pets). Since pets are at greater risk of contracting bordetella or having a reaction immediately after receiving the vaccination, it must be administered at least ONE WEEK PRIOR to your scheduled stay at the resort. This vaccination can be administered via a shot, or as an intranasal spray. For more information on Bordetella, click here.

This combination shot is generally good for one year although some manufacturers are producing three year vaccinations. If your DHLPP is for three years, the documentation from your vet must explicitly indicate that fact.

FECAL TEST - In addition to the above vaccinations, all pets staying at the resort must have a recent fecal test. A negative stool sample check is acceptable if it occurred in the six months prior to checking in. Documentation from your vet must indicate the results of the test. If the test was positive for parasites your pet must be treated and another fecal test performed (with a negative result) at the completion of treatment.

If you check-in without documentation of a current fecal test, one WILL be performed at the resort for a charge of $35.00. However, your pet will not be socialized until we receive a negative result and a $7 per day "scooping" fee will be assessed until we receive a negative result (usually one day). Please be sure your pet's fecal test is current!

Since we are located in a rural setting, we STRONGLY recommend that your pet be on a flea and tick preventative when staying at the resort. We check all incoming guests for fleas before check-in. If we find evidence of fleas at check-in or at any time during their stay, pets will be given a flea bath for a charge ranging from $20.00 to $40.00.

For the protection of your pet, these requirements are non-negotiable and no exceptions can be made. If you have any doubt, or do not have a copy of your current vaccinations, contact your vet and ask them to send a copy to you in advance of your scheduled stay. These records MUST be presented during or prior to check-in.
